Party Poker was launched in 2001 after being part of Starluck casino. PartyPoker.com became a giant as the main sponsor on the hit televised World Poker Tour (WPT). Party Gaming and the WPT paved the way for success by making poker into a televised game show. They made poker look so easy by showing the whole cards and then pouring millions in cash on the final table. Party Gaming stock was traded on the London Stock Exchange, thus they were forced to ban players from the USA when the UIGEA was passed.
